Edwards Passive Gauge Tubes – Reliable for Harsh Environments
Edwards passive gauge tubes are designed for applications in high-radiation or high-temperature environments where electronics may fail. While active measurement systems dominate the market, passive solutions remain superior for niche uses where electronic systems could be compromised. These tubes, paired with specialized controllers placed up to 50 meters away, allow local pressure display and control without direct electronic interference.
Reliable Performance for Demanding Applications
Ideal for high-energy physics and R&D environments, where radiation would damage standard electronic gauge systems, Edwards passive tubes offer robust, proven performance. With the IG40-EX series, they can measure pressures as low as 2e-12 mbar, making them perfect for ultra-high vacuum applications.
Dedicated Control Options
The passive gauge tubes' electronics are housed in a separate control unit, ensuring compatibility in extreme environments. Two control options are available:
- PGC201: Supports two Pirani gauge tubes (PRG20K) and one cold cathode gauge (CPG35K).
- PGC202: Manages two Pirani gauge tubes (PRG20K) and one hot cathode gauge (IG40BA or IG40EX).
Both options offer analog and digital outputs with setpoints for flexible system integration.
