Edwards Passive Gauge Tubes – Ideal for Extreme Environments
Edwards passive gauge tubes, lacking integrated electronics, are perfect for environments with high radiation or extreme temperatures. Although active measurement technology is widely used, passive systems remain essential for niche applications where nearby electronics could disrupt device operation. Control electronics are still necessary but can be located up to 50 meters away from the gauge head using specialized controllers, enabling localized pressure display and output for seamless system integration.
Durable, Precision Solutions for Challenging Conditions
These gauge tubes are well-suited for high-energy physics and research applications, where typical electronics in active gauges could fail due to radiation exposure. Known for reliable, long-term performance, these gauges cover the widest measurement range and, with the IG40-EX series, can achieve readings down to 2e-12 mbar—ideal for ultra-high vacuum environments.
Dedicated Controllers for Flexible System Integration
The electronics are housed in separate controllers, allowing for use even in radioactive settings. Two controller options are available to provide analog and digital outputs, plus integrated setpoints for easy system adaptation:
- PGC201: Supports two Pirani gauge tubes (PRG20K) and one cold cathode gauge (CPG35K).
- PGC202: Manages two Pirani gauges (PRG20K) and one hot cathode gauge (IG40BA or IG40EX).
