RUVAC roots pumps have been produced by Leybold for several decades. The dry-compressing Roots pump principle has proven itself in many areas of vacuum technology. RUVAC Roots pumps are combined with backing pumps (dry or oil-sealed) to increase the pumping speed in low pressure ranges and thus expand the working pressure range of the backing pumps. RUVAC Roots pumps are available in three different series with different drive motors. The RUVAC WA series uses air-cooled, flanged 3-phase motors. The RUVAC WS series is equipped with canned motors in air-cooled or water-cooled versions. Each series includes different sizes in order to provide the optimal pumping speed for the respective application. All three series are available with or without an integrated differential pressure valve (bypass valve).
RUVAC Roots pumps can be installed vertically or horizontally, offering increased flexibility in compact arrangements. The installation position can also be changed later if this becomes necessary.
RUVAC Roots piston pumps are equipped with robust bearings and offer extremely smooth running thanks to the effective lubrication system.
The rotor and stator windings in the drive motors for the RUVAC WS and RUVAC WSU are separated from each other by a vacuum-tight can.
The absence of shaft bushings in RUVAC Roots pumps results in high reliability and tightness. The canned motors, combined with the extremely effective lubrication system of the RUVAC WS series, allow speeds of up to 6000 rpm (with frequency converter). This results in increased pumping speed without changing the size of the pump. The entire WA(U) series meets the energy efficiency class IE3.
